LOU WOOLWORTH’S FIRST EXHIBITION OF ANIMAL JEWELRY.

Held from June 6 to July 5, 2024, the exhibition «Parure Animale» presented antique jewelry inspired by the animal kingdom in dialogue with contemporary creations by CHLOE VALORSO.

Emblems or totems, fantastic or wild, familiar or exotic, animals have been part of our fantasy and imagination since the dawn of time. Animal figures, whether symbolically evoked or clearly depicted, have been subject to multiple interpretations according to the evolution of iconography and iconology in diverse regions of the world, including in the realms of history, knowledge, science and art.

Animals are an inexhaustible source of inspiration and fascination. The animal is one of the great subjects of art that pays tribute to its majestic beauty and embodies its eternal mystery, from literature to poetry, from painting to sculpture and from decorative art to jewelry, where the figure ofthe animal occupies a privileged place.
